A little about me!

My name is Daphne and I am  happily married to Greg. I have had the privilege of bringing 5 children into this world. Sadly, my first born died of a cot death which has shaped me into the compassionate empathetic person I am today. I now have four wonderful grown-up children and 3 grandsons and I am blessed to live in a beautiful part of the Surrey Hills near to Haslemere on the border of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex.

MY  EXPERIENCE

Compassionate. Caring. Supportive.

I am an experienced, professional and recently retired nurse specialising in the provision of holistic and spiritual end of life care by providing personal support to patients, their families and their friends. I qualified as a nurse over 40 years ago and spent the last 5 years working in a hospice "care at home" team supporting patients dying in their own homes - it was an honour and a privilege to be there for those that needed us.

When someone is diagnosed with a life limiting condition it is "life changing", it can be frightening and there are questions to be asked. What does the future hold? Am I going to die? How am I going to cope? How do I plan the next stage? I am there to help address those anxieties about death, help someone comes to terms with the thought of dying and leaving their loved ones and be with them as they die if that is their wish.

I have undertaken specialist training to become a Soul Midwife, and am qualified and trained to:

  • Recognise the individual’s needs so they feel supported in achieving a loving, dignified and peaceful death.

  • Keep a compassionate vigil alongside the family and friends.

  • Work with sacred oils

  • Provide gentle therapeutic techniques.

  • Be a friendly accompanying presence.

  • Work as a non-denominational practitioner.

I live in Haslemere, Surrey and will be limited geographically to visiting and supporting those in approximately a 15 mile radius covering  areas such as Godalming, Farnham, Guildford, Petworth, Petersfield and Midhurst.

My initial introductory visit is free of charge and then I charge £40 per visit or ask for a  contribution towards my costs.

I am DBS checked and have public liability insurance.

I am passionate about end of life care and would feel privileged to support you or a loved one - Daphne.
